Final Fantasy XIV Online x Shu uemura: Get the Look, Kupo!

Did you know about the recent Final Fantasy-themed make-up drop? Well you're in luck because you haven't missed out just yet!

A limited, Japan-exclusive, team-up with luxury make-up brand Shu uemura and Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIV Online, the collaboration launched initially in Sept. 2025. Unlike so many other Japan-only exclusive's, the limited collection reached limit break extending its availability to the US and Canada this past November.

The website promotes it to fans and fantasy glams as:

"The beginning of your crystal beauty quest," where you'll be "guided by friendly moogles, answer mother crystal’s call and search for limited-edition crystal shimmers and glazed textures... and discover looks worthy of a hero."

The romantic, fantasy, gaming nerd in me can't help but swoon a little. Nice pitch. But what are the goods?

The collection includes various petite stash-and-go style eye color, to a full-sized opulent eye palette, all boasting shimmering gemstone inspiration, in pearlescent and matte shades.

There is also an eye-curler styling tool with cute moogle charm, and Shu uemura's "iconic cleansing oil." But top of my wish list, the cute and stylish shimmering lip colors.

With its moogle mascot and crystalline theme, and names like limit break coral and kupo pink, it is somehow both cute and sleek -- all wrapped in ethereal fantasy-style packaging worthy of Square Enix's Final Fantasy brand. In my book, it is a simply gorgeous, must-have, geek-chic collectable for when you wanna live those fantasy vibes day-to-day, or perhaps a sly sexy touch up in front of a geeky date. ("Oh this? Yes my lipstick does have a moogle on it! Isn't it cute?")

The price points range between 27.00 - $119.00 US, before shipping. The most expensive item in the collection being the eye shadow palette at $119.00 US, again styled in an absolutely gorgeous case with glitters and pressed moogle mascots on the powders.

I will admit there was some disappointment in my gaming group on seeing those price points. And I can't fully disagree as in general the price of games, systems, and game passes have always trended upward, but it has all certainly hit new highs lately (to say nothing of the more mundane purchases we all make in our daily lives).

That said, that criticism gets a bit of a pass from me when I think of it as more than simply mundane make-up, but something giving me a little more of a fabulous, fantasy, pick-me up, a bit of needed phoenix down in a stressful world. In that sense it feels like a decent price for a treasured collectible, a rare splurge, or special gift.

Unsurprisingly, several items are already sold out, but are also listed as "coming soon". Personally, I have fingers crossed regarding a restock. Seeing as they extended the line outside Japan, I am holding out hope on future availability for that lip color.

You can check it out for yourself and hopefully snap up your fav at their website:

Even if I miss out on this one I can't deny - it's all too cute, kupo!
